Summers in full effect!

Summer aka Tanning Season has OFFICIALLY began! I love this for many reasons...but here are a few:

1. No need to think about what to do on the weekend...Beach and Pool are always an option ;)
2. BBQs!!!
3. Traffic is cut down

On another note, Kaylen is out of school and on Summer Vacation.  Officially no longer my lil 4th grader and next year will be his last year in Elementary, he's growing up so fast!

Accomplishments to end the year:

1. He had improved in all areas of his report card socially and academically, he enjoyed his teacher this year and managed to turn in his assignments and do his homework with out any nagging from me =).
2. He had his first Mission assignment this year on Mission San Miguel Archangel and completed it along with his report and got an "A", yay!!
3. He is a purple-white belt in Karate.
4. He plays the Chello.
                                         (cell phone pic...a lil blurry)

Justice is still his lil energetic self keeping us on our toes.

Updates:
1. He is working on his use of the potty and is doing well.  He's been making it through the day staying dry with the exception of maybe one accident. He's getting the hang of it.
2. He is talking a whole lot more and using bigger sentences to say what he wants or feels.  (downside: some days i wish he had a mute button :) lol)
3. He likes to pick his own clothes to wear and is very opinionated on what he likes and wants.
4. He likes dancing, turning on lights, ringing the doorbell, annoying his brother, yelling at cars to "come on maaaan, moooove" (sigh, lol yes my fault), and raiding the pantry for snacks at his leisure.

I've been horrible at keeping things on here up to speed and i haven't been up to anything crafty lately. Im terribly behind on scrapbooking.  So my goal is to accomplish putting my wedding scrapbook and album together (yes i said Wedding...sigh). Work has filled up my days and by the time i get to relax its usually late. However the weekends are usually fun, and we definately make good use of them.  The San Diego County Fair is open and the kids and i went a couple weeks back. Here's a couple pics from our last visit.

Fathers day was also a fun day. I had spent two weeks planning a gift the boys to give their Dad. With all the hard work he's invested into his magazine and Imperial Hustle i decided to have shirts made for the family.  The boys got shirts made with the company logo on the back and "RESPECT THE HUSTLE" printed on the front.  Daddy was a happy camper.  Here's a shot of the shirt.

My husband however has many good things in the works. Cory has put out Volume 4 of The Resource Magazine with the Outlaws on the cover of his magazine as well as an exclusive interview! He's also got interviews with lots of other artists, models, producers, etc...he is definately moving forward to making his vision a success. If you haven't seen it you need to peep it. wwww.imperialhustle.com

Kids say the darnedest things....

I came across this article and being i've shared some of these amazingly embarrassing yet innocently humorous moments with my own kids I had to share it with you ....enjoy!

The 10 Most Humiliating Things My Kids Have Said in Public
by Charlotte Hilton Andersen,
REDBOOK

Compassion, kindness, respect for diversity, politeness, honesty, an understanding of basic anatomical functions—all good things I've tried to instill in my children over the years and all things that have backfired horribly in public, much to my embarrassment. No matter how skilled we are as parents, the Public Child Outburst happens to all of us. It's the one time you rue the fact that your child is such a clear speaker.

Here are some of my worst. Please please please tell me I'm not alone in my humiliation by sharing some of yours with me!

1. "People just give me stuff 'cause I'm so cute." A woman in a fabric store offered my 3-year-old son a piece of candy. When I prompted him to say thank you with, "What do you say to the nice lady?" this is what my eldest came up with.

2. "Stop making ugly faces!" My 2-year-old to a disabled person at the gym. I was mortified.

3. "That man's belly is so big! Is he having a baby?" My 5-year-old in the checkout line at the grocery store.

4. "Mommy, don't choke me!!!" My two-year-old son screamed this at the top of his lungs when I leaned in to take away a box of candy he'd pulled off the shelf at the store. For the record, I  have never, ever choked him or any of my children, nor threatened to. Of course that day I wanted to start...

5. "I threw up this morning, but mommy said not to tell you." My 4-year-old to his preschool teacher. In my defense, it was because he gagged on piece of fruit he doesn't like and made himself retch. It wasn't real puke, I swear.

6. "Look! When I touch it, it gets all hard!" My 4-year-old son in the middle of a crowded shoe store touching... well, yeah.

7. "Hey Mister! Do you know you have no hairs on your head?" Pretty sure he knows he's bald, sweetie.

8. "My mom did a photo shoot for a magazine for men!" This was my kindergartener's contribution to sharing time. Just to be clear: It was a head shot for an article I'd written for a men's fitness magazine.

9. "I don't have any socks on today because my mom didn't do the laundry yet. My brother isn't wearing any underwear." My 8-year-old to his gym teacher. I have no defense. This one's true.

10. "Mom! Mom! My stomach hurts so bad! I think I'm having a baby! I can feel it kicking my butt! I need to push it out!" My 4-year-old said this at the customer service counter at J.C. Penney's. I took him to the bathroom afterward where he had a very large number two.

Lets get this started...

I've been on a creative kick lately. Really thinking about where im at and what I RATHER be doing. Slowly but surely im finding my motivation and my way on track.
This weekend i ventured with a friend of mine to Michaels to explore and let some of that creative energy flow. I love that store!

That being said i made Justice a name banner for his room with his favorite Disney characters -

After putting that together i ventured into towel cakes. I love the concepts that i can create with this...and the different ideas and accessories that can be incorporated. So slowly but surely i am going to be putting together different designs to establish some variety to show off and potentially sell.
Today I put together what i'd call more of a vanity design that i think would be cute for a house warming or even as a birthday gift. What do you think?

Wrapped up in that thing called Life

Many changes have been on the horizon for me so its been a while since i've updated....

We've officially gotten all moved into our new place and unpacked. Wasnt the easiest thing to do working full time but things are definitely falling into place all the way around. Cory and I both love coming home and Kaylen has even met some kids his age in the complex to run around and play with after school. This definitely let us know moving here was a good decision for not only us but our boys.

Another highlight as of recent is that my son Kaylen turned 10 years old! Was great to have all of the family and friends over for his birthday and be able to see him having a great time as we all celebrated a decade of his loving, funny and generous nature.  I'm so in love with this kid.

I passed my Notary exam and i am OFFICIALLY a Notary. This will help me in my current line of work as well as provide an opportunity for me to gain extra income.  I've also been moved into a different position at work, with the economy being slow they've transitioned me into the Support Team which means i travel around to different offices in the County to assist when people are out of vacation or when they are really busy.  This was definately a blessing as it enabled me to keep my job verses winding up with the thousands of others out there unemployed.

Feels like the year is moving by so fast already, cant believe we are almost in May and my lil niece Sophie will be here soon. So many exciting things going on this year....ready to embrace it all.

Here's a few pics of the boys coloring their Easter eggs...

Sometimes others say it so much better...

In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.
- Eva Burrows

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible -- the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.
-Virginia Satir

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
--Mahatma Gandhi

"I'm pretty but I'm not beautiful
I sin but I'm not the devil
I'm good but I'm not an angel"
— Marilyn Monroe

Tolerance comes of age. I see no fault committed that I myself could not have committed at some time or other.
